What Is CryoCorrect?

CryoCorrect is an in-office, non-invasive cryotechnology treatment that removes skin tags, age spots and sun spots as well as other blemishes. Cryotherapy works by cooling skin tissue to subzero temperatures, causing the targeted cells to die and be shed from the skin. 

The CryoCorrect Precision tool precisely and quickly freezes off blemishes with minimal discomfort and no downtime.

What Can You Treat with CryoCorrect?

CryoCorrect addresses stubborn skin blemishes anywhere on the face, neck, hands and body. It’s often performed as a second-line treatment after another procedure such as a laser treatment, microdermabrasion or facial to spot-correct any problem areas. 

Some common conditions treated with CryoCorrect are:

The CryoCorrect Precision tool performs gentle but thorough removal of blemishes that can’t be removed by other treatments. While traditional cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen, CryoCorrect uses liquid carbon dioxide, which freezes at a higher temperature. This results in a shallower freeze than traditional cryotherapy, resulting in less risk of damage to the surrounding tissue.

Before & Afters

On the day of treatment, the treated area will darken and remain so for 3–5 days. A scab will form afterwards, which falls off around 2–3 weeks later. 

The healing process varies between patients, but complete recovery usually takes 4–12 weeks.

The discomfort associated with CryoCorrect is minimal, though the area treated may be tender afterwards. Anesthetic is not necessary for the procedure.

Is CryoCorrect a skin cancer treatment?

CryoCorrect is not FDA-approved as a skin cancer treatment. However, it is used off-label to remove actinic keratosis, a skin lesion that may become cancerous.

What skin types is CryoCorrect best for?

CryoCorrect has been tested on Fitzpatrick Types I-III, which are lighter skin tones. It is not currently recommended for types IV-VI, or darker skin tones.
